The Hills Are Alive Organisers Announce New Festival ‘Ocean Sounds’

The team behind Victoria’s NYE On The Hill and The Hills Are Alive festivals have announced a new one-day event, dubbed Ocean Sounds.

The family-friendly festival will make its debut on Churchill Island (just off Phillip Island) in January, featuring performances from the likes of Dan Sultan, Pierce Brothers and Jen Cloher.

The event’s debut shindig will also feature the likes of Melbourne band Oh Pep!, singer-songwriter Mike Waters and Gippsland’s Maddy May. View the full lineup, below.

Aside from all the music, organisers are also promising “stunning local wines” and gourmet food.

“We started The Hills Are Alive over 10 years ago and now a lot of our friends have children and can’t do three-day festivals anymore, but still really want to go and see live music in a beautiful place,” says Event Director Aidan McLaren.

“We wanted to create something for them, as well as something that could showcase more of the local area. Churchill Island is such a stunning location and the local food and wine down here is sensational.”
