The Soundscape Festival 2012 Lineup Announcement

What was once a small, local event in the Tasmania of 2008, Soundscape Festival, has very quickly grown in size and stature to become one of the most prominent festivals of the region with lineups that actually make the rest of Australia wish they were in Tasmania.

By 2010, Soundscape had become so popular that organisers were forced to step things up a notch, increasing the stage sizes, decking them all out with advance light displays and state-of-the-art gear to accomodate for headliners such as The Grates and Basement Jaxx. To cope with the changes and growing pains that didn’t seem to fit in with the changing industry climate, Soundscape’s standard January timeline was shifted to November, and relocated to Tasmania’s iconic Princes Wharf Shed #1 in Hobart.

Now with the perfect system of operating, organisers have unveiled the lineup for this year’s instalment. Chock full of domestic talent, the event will be headlined by none other than The Temper Trap, who are currently coasting off the success of their sophomore self-titled release that saw them tour Australia earlier in the year, as well as Missy Higgins, whose new album is still celebrating the great reception of her 2012 comeback The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle, and of course Bluejuice, who need no introduction whatsoever.

The whole shebang will kick off November 16th and 17th instead of the usual January slot.
