Tom DeLonge Streams New Album And Shares ‘Circle-Jerk-Pit’ Video

Blink-182‘s prodigal son Tom DeLonge has made good on promises to release a new album packed with unreleased material from his musical vault. The disc, entitled To The Stars… Demos, Odds And Ends, had been tipped to contain previously unheard Blink demos, among other things.

The 8-track LP has now been served up as a full stream (below), alongside a brand-new music video for the incredibly retro-Blink-sounding track Circle-Jerk-Pit (also below), which appropriately features a range of quintessential punk shenanigans, from skating in empty swimming pools to doing burnouts. Radical.

The scrappy punk tune stands in stark contrast to some of the other songs on the disc, such as previous single New World which sports a crooning, ‘adult’ vibe. You could say that, stylistically, To The Stars traverses DeLonge’s entire musical galaxy, from the Angels and Airwaves feel of Animals to the acoustic stylings of The Invisible Parade, to An Endless Summer, which has a synth-laced Take Off Your Pants And Jacket sort of vibe.

If you didn’t know they were currently sort of feuding, you’d swear that was Mark Hoppus on backing vox.

The release of To The Stars marks phase one of DeLonge’s planned four-album assault this year. The singer/guitarist/alien whisperer has also promised to deliver fifteen novels over the next four years.

His position in Blink-182, meanwhile, remains up in the airwaves, with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba filling in for now.
