In the middle of a global health crisis, where we’ve seen creatives and artists band together to find new ways to create entertainment for their fans, we’ve also seen some sh*t. There’s been deranged Tik Toks, an array of wild tweets, but somewhere in the middle of it all… Gal Gadot decided to enlist a bunch of celebs to create a montage video of them singing ‘Imagine’.
It begins with Gadot herself, before we receive a line each from a range of other celebs. Sia, Will Ferrell, Mark Ruffalo, Natalie Portman, and Zoe Kravitz are some of the lineup covering the John Lennon and Yoko Ono song.
The video initially surfaced on Gal Gadot’s Instagram.
Gadot begins the video saying, “These past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical. You know, this virus has affected the entire world. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from. We’re all in this together.”
Despite the probably-good intentions behind the video, it’s been met with a bunch of criticism. Not just because the video is genuinely terrible either.
Enjoy some of the reactions below.
imagine— IMAGINE—having $17 million dollars and thinking that making a video clip of you singing one line of a song would help anyone

Hey celebs, we don’t want to be sung to. We want you to use a million or two of your money and order ventilators, masks, and gloves from the manufacturers then donate them to a hospital. Or pay for the salaries of an entire staff at a bar, restaurant, or daycare. #imagine

The Gal Gadot/others Imagine video would have been the perfect 30 Rock plotline wherein Jenna spiraled after not being asked to contribute and publicly announced that she had coronavirus for the attention

No politician can unify people in the way that the “Imagine” video seems to have united every single person against it.
