Watch Stand Atlantic Take On Juice WRLD’s ‘Righteous’ For Triple J’s Like A Version

Stand Atlantic were up for this week’s Like A Version. They took on Juice WRLD’s ‘Righteous’, honing in on the emo side of his music while still staying true to the track throughout. It’s great.

The Sydney pop-punk act took along fellow Sydney-sider, Stevie Knight from The Dead Love to help with vocals. Knight actually produced Stand Atlantic’s most recent release Pink Elephant as well as their previous album Skinny Dipping.

Bonnie Fraser and Stevie Knight sharing lines throughout the track adds a super sick texture to the cover which is really cool.

The team also gave us a performance of ‘Jurassic Park’ one of the singles from Pink Elephant. The energy is so bloody good and the performance is a lot of fun.

Pop-punk obsessives have been pretty excited about this Like A Version. Stand Atlantic are no strangers to delivering an iconic cover, giving us Taking Back Sunday’s ‘MakeDamnSure’ and Modern Baseball’s ‘Your Graduation’, previously.

Bonnie and Miki from STAT dropped some goss on the cover in their ‘Behind The Like A Version’.

“There’s a lot of common links as to where the emo-rap genre and the world we’re in as well, [where] the style came from. It kind of all just comes down to emo music. So we just thought that was really cool and it was a nice little connection to have to the song,” said Stand Atlantic’s Bonnie Fraser.

The pair also revealed they wanted to do ‘Unwritten’ by Natasha Bedingfield before they caught Maddy Jane do it.

“We saw that and we were like, ‘fair enough, she’s done it really well,'” said Fraser.

You can catch their ‘Righteous’ cover, their ‘Jurassic Park’ performance, and their ‘Behind The Like A Version’ below.
