It was a song that heavily soundtracked many of our teenage years, and now the masterminds behind it will be returning to Australia to perform not only the title track from Ocean Avenue but the whole damn record, with Yellowcard announcing Ocean Avenue Acoustic, The Tour, with dates kicking off towards the end of October this year.
10 years since the release of the record, Yellowcard have revealed they will be reimagining the album and releasing an acoustic version. This means fan favourites including Way Away, Only One, Believe and the great Ocean Avenue will all be getting the timber and steel treatment. Ocean Avenue Acoustic will be set for release Friday, 16th August.
The band’s legacy album was followed by a high calibre of releases such as Where We Stand, Paper Walls, When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes and the more recent Southern Air but the timing of Ocean Avenue was perfect, dropping in at the height of the pop punk wave, and inspiring countless acts to start making similar music.
For the Spring tour dates, Yellowcard will be joined by Byron hardcore acoustic outfit Toy Boys.
