Billy Bragg Announces Australian ‘Tooth & Nail’ Tour Dates, March 2014

Written by Mike Hohnen on September 10, 2013

Billy Bragg has announced that he will be following up his whirlwind jaunt Down Under with a nationally encompassing run of headlining shows for March next year. Currently in town for BIGSOUND, Bragg has also confirmed a one-off Sydney showcase taking place this Friday, 13th September.

Bragg’s return next March will be in support of his current album Tooth & Nail and we should all be very grateful for this release as it has inspired Bragg to return Down Under with his full band in tow for the first time in 5 years. The album also sees Bragg revisit his penchant for heartache, pinning his heart back on his sleeve for a run of tracks that document the struggles of maintaining the relationships in our lives.

40 years into the game is a risky time to shake things up but Bragg has decided now is the time to reinvent himself; a move that has so far been met with thunderous applause. Of course, Bragg and co will also be delving deep into their back catalogue including Wilco collaboration and fan favourite Mermaid Avenue.

UPDATE 11/12/13: The upcoming Billy Bragg tour has expanded with the musician announcing today he will add one more show to the run of dates. Bragg will now be bringing his Tooth and Nail tour to Byron Bay, playing at The Northern Hotel on Friday 21 March.

UPDATE 2:43pm AEDT 18/02/14: Billy Bragg has expanded his upcoming national tour, announcing the addition of a new Sydney show set for Manning Bar on Tuesday, 18th March, in addition to his recently announced Byron Bay show.

Viv Lee Presents have also announced a change of venue for Bragg’s Wednesday, 12th March show at Federation Hall. In response to feedback calling for a more intimate gig in a licensed venue, the show will now take place at Hellenic Hall. All Federation Hall tickets will be honoured.

Performance times will remain the same, with Courtney Barnett kicking off at 8:00pm and Billy Bragg playing at 8:45pm. Punters who wish to refund their tickets will be able to do so through the TSO booking office prior to show day only.
