No Postal Service For Splendour In The Grass

Postal Service have simultaneously dashed the hopes of Australian fans and quashed any rumours of an appearance at Splendour in the Grass 2013 by stating that Australia is not on the tour schedule as the American duo tours behind the 10th anniversary of their lone album Give Up.

Speaking with triple j, Postal Service member Jimmy Tamborello told Richard Kingsmill that the pair’s tight tour schedule means Postal Service fans not only in Australia but all over the world will miss out:

“We have a pretty small window of time where this is possible and I haven’t heard anything about any dates there. It’s sad we don’t have any more time to do more of the world. I’ve never been to Australia!”

As for The Postal Service returning to the stage for the first time in almost 10 years, Tamborello admitted he and bandmate Ben Gibbard are feeling the pressure of living up to the expectations of long-awaiting fans:

“Yeah I’m definitely nervous. But I’m trying to remember that I’ve got to enjoy it because these things don’t happen very often in my life.”

Strike a Splendour rumour one off the Lollapalooza list, then. Who’s next?
