Last week Herald Sun reporter, Nui Te Koha, revealed that Prince would soon be announcing an Australian 2012 tour, and even though nothing has yet been confirmed, it seems the announcement is imminent.
Nui Te Koha has now revealed that Chugg Entertainment will promote the tour, telling Triple M earlier today that “Chuggy will announce the tour this week or next”:
Michael Chugg is set to announce a tour by Prince. He still plays the greatest hits tour and it’s an amazing show by all accounts…there were a couple of promoters from Melbourne who were in the mix as well; they dropped out last week.
So it looks like we’ll either see an announcement tomorrow morning or early next week.
Prince’s management team has been shopping an Aussie tour around for a while now. Last year Big Day Out promoter, Ken West, spoke of the issues the BDO suffered after Prince decided to decline their offer at the last minute.
The tour will see Prince visiting Australia for the first time in over 8 years; the Megastar is now aged 53.
