Underoath Announce 2017 Australian Tour

You probably thought you’d never get a chance to see them play live again, didn’tcha?

Come 2017, it’ll be bang-on five years since Underoath last toured Australia, and since then, the American post-hardcore act have broken up, spent two years apart, and gotten back together again against all expectations.

And ya know what? They must be enjoying it, because they’ve just announced a massive Australian headlining tour for 2017.

Yep, Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah was right once again, after teasing us with an Underoath tour announcement on the horizon last week (even though he doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the tour itself).

The reformed six-piece, which includes prodigal son Aaron Gillespie rejoining the fold on drums, will be bringing their Rebirth tour to our shores next February to perform their first Down Under shows since SW 2012.

They’ve announced a run of 5 dates, traversing Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

And as if that wasn’t exciting enough for ya, the lads will also be playing their two biggest albums – AKA Define The Great Line and They’re Only Chasing Safety – in full, front to back.

Tickets to Underoath’s Rebirth Australian tour go on sale from 9am next Monday, 17th October.

You can catch all the details below, and stay tuned for Music Feeds‘ big interview with guitarist Tim McTague, where he dishes even more details about the forthcoming tour and what else the future holds for the newly reborn Underoath.

UPDATE 18/10/16: After selling out the first, Underoath have added a second and final Melbourne show to their tour. Tickets are on sale now and you can see the details below.

UPDATE 20/01/17: Underoath have announced that Sydney post-rock outfit sleepmakeswaves will open all shows of their ‘Rebirth’ tour down under.
