Swedish metal gods Meshuggah have announced that they’re heading to Australia next year, to show off their forthcoming eighth album.
The band have been together for almost three decades, and will bring a wealth of experience with them to our shores in March 2017, for shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle.
Meshuggah’s forthcoming record The Violent Sleep of Reason will be released on 7th October, giving fans plenty of times to dig into the new material before the band visit Australia. It’s their first record since 2012’s Koloss, and by the sounds of it they’re giving fans something a little different.
Speaking about the band’s Aussie visit, drummer Tomas Haake said fans will, “get something that they don’t really hear in any other bands.
“We’re not trying to write your average metal song. We’re not trying to write catchy songs. We’re not trying to write hit songs (laughs). We’re just trying to write something that is cool, that we haven’t heard before, and hopefully our fans haven’t heard before.”
