Perth rap hero Drapht has announced an intimate nationwide tour alongside the surprise announcement of his upcoming sixth studio album, Arabella Street.
Drapht is opting for an unconventional release method for this record. After spending 2017 driving up and down the west coast of American in an RV writing new music, he has given us a surprise taste of his upcoming album in the form of a five-song EP.
“I decided I wanted tackle the release of this album a little differently this time around,” he says in a statement.
“I really had to attempt to take the pressure away from releasing individual songs and sole singles that didn’t quite represent the albums entirety and in the past tended to be extremely stressful. So I wanted to release the album in sections of multiple songs at a time instead; that way giving people more of a taste of things to come; that will then lead to the full body of work later in the year.”
Leading the five-song release is ‘The Come Down Was Real’, which features Indoor Fins and is your quintessential Drapht banger.
As for the tour, Drapht is taking Arabella Street on a five-day tour in August, hitting Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney before wrapping things up in Brisbane.
