Big Skeez Releases New Single ‘Up’, Another Afroswing Home Run

Big Skeez, Western Sydney’s preeminent Afroswing artist, has released the new single ‘Up’ through NLV Records.

‘Up’ is Big Skeez’s final single of 2021. It was produced by Skeez’s regular collaborator Swick (Tkay Maidza, Capo Lee, Big Zuu, Kamakaze, Merky Ace) and co-written with Tom Elliot, one half of Korky Buchek. ‘Up’ combines elements of rap, Afrobeats, UK garage and baile funk, held together by Skeez’s always-slinky lead vocals.

It’s been an excellent year for the South Sudanese-Australian rapper, singer and composer, Big Skeez. His previous single, ‘Where Yuh From’, was a collaboration with the Trinidadian-Australian dancehall artist Gold Fang. The chemistry between the pair was infectious, while Skeez absolutely dominated with lines like “They wanna talk they can come for me” and “Dropping names probably get you smoked.”

Earlier in the year, Skeez jumped on the track ‘On Tonight’ with Melbourne dance producer FOURA. His solo single, ‘No Trace’, followed in July, positioning him as an Afroswing/Afrobeats artist of potent ability.

Big Skeez released his debut single ‘Madness’ in 2019 before signing with Nina Las Vegas‘ NLV Records in early 2021. He’s picked up support from triple j, FBi Radio, Triple R, rage and MTV over the course of 2021. Check out the official music video for ‘Up’ below.
