Genesis Owusu released his phenomenal debut studio album Smiling with No Teeth back in March of this year, and now he’s followed it up with a deluxe edition titled Missing Molars. The rapper’s new collection contains five additional tracks, including previously-released single ‘Same Thing’ which arrived last month.
To coincide with the release, Owusu has also shared a striking video for lead single ‘The Fall’, filmed at Phoenix Creative Park in Sydney with directing duo VERSUS (Jason Sukadana & Tanya Babic). Watch that below.
“There was a real sense of symbiosis on this project, when we first met with Kofi our ideas for the film meshed perfectly with the themes in a track he had just recorded,” commented Sukadana.
“When Kofi is in the room, you know you are in the presence of greatness. He’s truly one in a billion. His immense talent and groundbreaking vision will resound for generations,” Babic added.
Since releasing Smiling with No Teeth in March, it’s been a big few months for Owusu. The rising star completed a completely sold out national tour, made his debut Like a Version appearance, and performed on The Set, delivering a raucous cover of Talking Heads‘ ‘Psycho Killer’ alongside The Chats in addition to Smiling with No Teeth cuts ‘Whip Cracker’ and ‘A Song About Fishing’.
