Harvest Festival returns again for its second year, and the 2012 lineup will look just as good as the last. Brought to you by the guys behind the popular metal/punk/hardcore event Soundwave, this festival aims to bring something a little different to the market by recreating a typical European indie events lineup.

As Expected we see Grizzly Bear on the line up, after the band announced world tour dates last week that included New Zealand dates for around the festival. A screenshot from the bands artist page on Warped (the bands label) confirmed the Harvest dates as well. Sigur Ros make their first appearance in Australia since 2008. Jonsi confirmed they would be out here for November in a recent interview on triple j. Other acts include Beck, Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane and Ben Fold’s Five to name a few.
The festival will have an arts programme, just like last year that saw over 400 artists participate across the three cities. Two unique virtual experiences were a part of that, which involved an interactive augmented reality art installation accessible via smartphones (iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia). Inspired by notions of harvest, you could see animated 3D vegetables float around the festival site, expressing their emotions upon audience interaction.
This year’s event will take place between the 10th and 18th of November, and will return to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Last year’s ticket sales were high, which saw the Melbourne leg of the tour sell out, and is expected to do so in similar fashion this year.
After a long wait for the lineup, it was announced only on Tuesday that it would be dropping today. But now we can finally reveal the full list below.
