French-Cuban duo Ibeyi are set to make their Australian live debut in 2016.
Twins Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz have announced their first ever Down Under tour will happen in March of next year, with headlining dates scheduled for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as appearances at the Perth Festival and WOMADelaide.
The pair will arrive on our shores armed with their self-titled debut album, which has drawn worldwide acclaim for its fusion of genres, as well as both traditional and modern elements.
The pair also have another claim to fame. Their father was Miguel “Anga” Diaz of the Buena Vista Social Club, who was acclaimed as the greatest conga player of his generation.
