Katy Perry Australian Tour 2014 Announced

Pop superstar, Katy Perry, has announced that The Prismatic World Tour will be making its way to Australia in November, kicking off in Perth on Friday 7th November and playing arena dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

“PERTH, ADELAIDE, MELBOURNE, SYDNEY, BRISBANE! I’ll be seeing YOU this November!” Perry tweeted just hours ago. “And don’t worry, New Zealand… I’m coming to see you kiwis too!,” she added. Auckland dates are yet to be announced.

The tour is in support of Katy’s hit album Prism, which debuted at number one in Australia and has since been certified triple platinum. The album has given Perry her biggest ever single in Australia with Roar currently certified 9 times Platinum.

The latest single Dark Horse is already triple platinum in Australia with the accompanying video just released on February 21. The 29-year-old Perry will jet into Australia next week to promote the tour and will make a television appearance in Sydney before pre-sale tickets are released on March 5.

Perry’s impending tour was anticipated early last week when ticket agency Ticketek kicked off a teaser campaign advertising a “countdown to the hottest performers — 5 mega announcements in 30 days.” The advertisement featured silhouettes of the performing giants, which were easily discernable.

Other superstars who have recently announced Australian tours include, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Robbie Williams with another tour expected to be announced soon from performer extraordinaire Justin Timberlake.

Telstra will be offering customers the chance to jump the queue for tickets to the Australian leg of the Prismatic Tour. Telstra customers will have access to a 48 hour pre-sale from 9am Wednesday 5th March to 9am Friday 7th March. Register for pre-sale tickets here. General public tickets will go on sale at 12pm on Tuesday 11 March.

UPDATE 07/03/14: Due to overwhelming demand, Katy Perry has announced an extra five brand new shows one each for Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Facebook, Dainty Group and Citi Australia pre-sale tickets to all shows will be on sale from 1pm, Friday 7th March. General public tickets will be on sale Tuesday, 11th March, at 12pm.
