The Aussie festival circuit hasn’t really been the wisest target for new business ventures lately. We’ve seen more festivals crumble over the past few years than ever before. What with Mission To Launch failing to take off, Heatwave producing very little heat at all, Soundwave Revolution failing to catch on, and BDO being downsized in many locations.
However, some have blocked their eyes and ears to the reality of a struggling economy and pushed through for the benefit of the consumer. Launch Music Festival will be picking 2012 as its first ever event, and Toowoomba’s Showgrounds as the inaugural location.
Taking place in October, organisers have released the first round lineup up today. Headlining the gig will be The Potbellez, and electro hooligans Bombs Away landing high up on the bill. Early bird tickets will rack up $88, General release tickets a bit more at $99 and VIP tickets are $165 each. The website is up and running, albiet a bit out of date, but check it out for more info.
