mclusky Announce 2026 Australian Tour

mclusky have announced a run of Australian tour dates, set to take place in January of 2026. The tour will come almost exactly two years after the Welsh trio were last in Australia circa 2024, and will serve as the band’s first tour in over 20 years on the back of new material: Their upcoming fourth studio album, The World Is Still Here And So Are We. The full list of Australian tour dates, as well as pre-sale and ticketing information, can be found below.

mclusky originally reformed back in 2014, originally referring to it as ‘mclusky’ with quotemarks or mclusky* with an asterisk. They later dropped the punctuation entirely and returned under the mclusky moniker. Last year saw the band release a new single, ‘Different Parts Of A Pig’. That track has now been followed up with a new single entitled ‘Way Of The Exploding Dickhead’ – which Falkous has described as “a modern parable, without the parable bit”.

“[The] title [is] modeled on/ripped off a formative video game, The Way Of The Exploding Fist on the ZX Spectrum,” said Falkous. “[The] lyrics [are] inspired by the huge excitement caused by the surge pricing on tickets to see a band play well in the distance.” The song’s music video, directed by Remy Lamont, is set at the fictional Mclusky Fitness gym and sees Falkous working out with older, overweight men in contrast with model/dancer Giulio Dilemmi. It can be viewed below.

The band’s new album arrives on Friday, May 9th via Ipecac Records – the label owned and run by Faith No More frontman Mike Patton. Their last album, The Difference Between Me Me And You Is That I’m Not On Fire, was released in 2004. The band split up the following year, with frontman Andrew Falkous and drummer Jack Egglestone forming a new band called Future Of The Left. Bassist John Chapple, meanwhile, relocated to Australia and later joined the band Harmony.

The 2026 tour will mark mclusky’s fifth of Australia overall. They originally visited in December of 2003, and returned less than a year later in July of 2004. Though Future Of The Left would tour several times in the intervening years, mclusky themselves would not return until January of 2020.
