In support of their new EP Nine Lives, Six Degrees, Brisbane 4-piece Millions have announced they will be hitting the road for a string of dates around Australia.
For a band who hasn’t been together for two years, they already have a serious amount of feathers in their cap. Breaking nationally through triple j, the band also played at Splendour in the Grass in 2011 as well as warming the crowd for bands such as Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Grates, Bluejuice and Bleeding Knees Club. This won’t be their first tour either, having gigged extensively alongside domestic acts such as Gold Fields, Nantes and Northeast Party House.
After launching into 2012 with a set at BDO on the Gold Coast, the band will be showcasing their latest release, with featured tunes gobbled up not only by triple j, but also community radio. Tracks such as Those Girls, Guru and Slow Burner will be accompanied by two brand spanking new songs. Recorded at Sydney’s BJB Studios, the EP was produced by Matt Lovell (Eskimo Joe) and mixed by Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, Birds Of Tokyo); a lot of experience has been put into the release.
Having only very recently signed to Stop Start, the lads have been met with nothing but praise by the Stop Start top dog Andy Bryan: “It’s really exciting to be working with Millions and I couldn’t be happier that they are joining our local roster. I love the songs they’ve delivered thus far, this debut EP is just a taste of what is to come. There is an aesthetic and energy about the music, and it just feels like they are a band of the future both in Australia and overseas.”
