My Chemical Romance Postpone Australian Tour Dates To 2023

In another blow to fans still feeling the sting of previous cancellations, My Chemical Romance have officially postponed their long-awaited Australian tour dates by another year.

The band were due to finally return to Australian stages in March 2022, but have today announced that tour has been pushed back once more until March 2023.

This follows the 2020 cancellation of a string of Aussie tour dates, including headline slots at Download Festival, due to, of course, the pandemic.

In a statement, MCR say that the catalyst for this postponement is the “uncertainty regarding international border restrictions and indoor venue capacity limits.”

When they finally happen, these will be My Chemical Romance’s first Australian shows since their Big Day Out appearances in 2012. The band will play three huge Australian arena tour dates in March 2023, in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

It’ll also mark the band’s first Aussie shows since they returned in 2019 after a six-year hiatus.

All tickets remain valid for the 2023 shows and refunds are available to those unable to attend the rescheduled shows, you just need to request your refunds by Friday 10 December, 5pm local time.
