Swedish Black Metal Crew Watain Announce Debut Australian Headline Tour

Swedish black metal band and Soundwave Festival alumni Watain have announced their first-ever headline tour of Australia.

The band, who have toured Australian supporting the likes of Behemoth and Mayhem in the past, are now set to perform in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in February 2019, off the back of their latest album Trident Wolf Eclipse.

Watain are known for their use of satanic rituals, animal carcasses and blood during performances, and made headlines in 2014 when they doused a New York crow in animal blood, allegedly causing members of the audience to vomit.

If that sounds up your alley, catch all of the tour dates and ticket details for the band’s 2019 Australian tour, below.

Speaking about Trident Wolf Eclipse, Watain said the album is “not about the past, nor the future, it is about here and now, and we sincerely look forward to show you all what that implies”.

“To all those that are as impatient as we are for that day to come; Thank you for your unending support and see you soon.”
