Tash Sultana Planning “Small Hiatus” Following Aussie Homecoming Tour

Tash Sultana has revealed she’s planning to go on a brief hiatus following her upcoming Australian tour.

Premiering her new song ‘Mystik’ on triple j this morning, the singer-songwriter said she’ll go on a “small hiatus” after she tours the country between November and December.

“I do this run and then the Aussie run and then I’m going to go on a little bit of a hiatus and do some different kind of stuff. I think it’s time – it’s been two years now,” before explaining that she’s considering becoming something of a “nomad” and travelling the world later on as “a normal 25, 26-year-old”.

“That could change,” she added.

Discussing ‘Mystik’, Sultana explained that the song was written over the last five weeks, and has helped her get through a difficult time in her life. It’s also the first time she’s played saxophone on a track. The song will be released this Friday, 6th October, but you can hear a snippet below. (UPDATE: Stream the full thing right here)

As for her highly anticipated debut album — which is expected in 2018 — Sultana said, “It’s coming along. It’s been busting my balls, but it’s getting there.”

Aside from her upcoming homecoming tour, Sultana is also scheduled to perform at Vanfest, This That and Spilt Milk festival later this year.
