The Crystal Method Announce 2024 Australian Tour

American big beat act The Crystal Method has announced its return to Australia for a run of shows in March 2024. Now the sole domain of founding member Scott Kirkland, The Crystal Method toured Australia as recently as December 2022 – over 15 years after the outfit’s previous visit as part of the 2007 Big Day Out.

Joining The Crystal Method for the east coast portion of the tour will be Infusion. The Wollongong electronica trio were a festival mainstay in the mid-2000s, scoring a top 40 hit with ‘Girls Can Be Cruel’ in 2004 and winning the ARIA for Best Dance Release that year. After splitting up in 2013, the group reunited in 2019 and have performed sporadically since.

DJs and producers Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan founded The Crystal Method in 1993. They remained a duo until Jordan’s retirement in 2017, with Kirkland continuing solo ever since. The Crystal Method’s most recent studio album, The Trip Out, was released in April 2022.

Despite being firmly planted in the electronic music world, many of The Crystal Method’s best-known songs have been collaborations with rock artists. ‘(Can’t You) Trip Like I Do’ – which featured on the soundtrack to Spawn in 1997 – featured Richard Patrick of Filter. 2003’s ‘Born Too Slow’ featured Kyuss frontman John Garcia and Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland. 2009’s ‘Come Back Clean’ spotlighted the vocals of Metric frontwoman Emily Haines.
