Western Australian garage rock legends The Stems are gearing up for an Australian tour to celebrate their 40th anniversary. After a five-year hiatus this August and September, the band will return to the stage. They will celebrate four decades since their inaugural live performance in 1984 at the Old Civic Theatre in Inglewood, Western Australia, where they marked their auspicious debut supporting iconic Australian bands, The Saints and The Triffids.
The Stems will now kick off their 40th anniversary tour on Saturday, August 24 at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel, followed by Brisbane’s The Zoo. on Friday, August 30 and at The Manning Bar in Sydney on Saturday, August 31. They will finally wrap up the tour on Friday 6th September at Freo.Social, Perth.
The Stems – ‘Tears Me In Two’
The road saga of the group began in 1984 when the group began to open for other gems of Australian music such as The Saints and The Triffids at the Old Civic. Theater in Inglewood. , in Western Australia.
Stems are celebrated for their 60’s inspired garage rock. a sound characterized by live guitars, organs and unforgettable atmospheric melodies.
Although they disbanded in 1987 after the release of the album ‘At’. First Sight – Violet Are Blue, The Stems made a triumphant return in 2003. In 2007, they released a new LP, Heads Up, captivating audiences both in Australia and overseas with their electrifying performances.
