This That Festival Announces Postponed 2021 Dates, Adds Queensland Event

Newcastle’s This That festival typically runs annually in November. As with most large-scale events we were looking forward to in 2020, it’s not gonna happen this time ’round. Organisers have instead announced a pair of dates for February 2021.

The news comes alongside the announcement that the festival is no longer just for Novocastrians and their neighbours. Next year will see This That expanding to Queensland, with the festival set to run across two weekends: Saturday, 13th February (QLD) and Saturday, 20th February (NSW).

In a statement, organisers said they are “working with Federal, State and Local Government authorities on an all-encompassing health and safety plan, including advice around ongoing COVID safe protocols”.

Having run for over half a decade at this point, This That has boasted previous lineups that include the likes of Alison Wonderland, Amy Shark, RL Grime, Broods, Schoolboy Q, The Presets and many more. Next year’s bill is set to drop over the coming weeks, and will presumably be locally sourced.

If you’re starting to miss that festival feeling and itchin’ to return, you can sign up for pre-sale tickets for both Queensland and Newcastle legs now.
