The Wiggles Call Out Ticket Scalpers For Ruining Kids’ Dreams

Even fans of The Wiggles are getting stung by ticket scalpers now and the beloved Aussie kids’ band want it to Romp-Bomp-a-Stop.

They’ve released a statement responding to upset parents who’ve alerted them to scalpers flogging “hot potato” floor tickets to their Wiggly Christmas Big Show for ridiculously jacked-up prices.

“We received a number of concerned emails and messages about tickets being resold and scalped by unauthorised sellers for exorbitant prices. Please know, we share your concerns and take this very seriously,” The Wiggles said in a statement on Facebook, linking to an info page on their website directing fans to legitimate resellers.

The “hot potato” floor tickets, for kids who want to get as up-close-and-personal with their Wiggly heroes as possible, were being sold for around $41 by Ticketek.

But some are being hocked for more than $300 on reseller website Viagogo.

You know things are getting bad when the opportunistic vultures are targeting kids now.

It’s the latest in a long line of insane price jack-ups by scalpers who’ve grossly inflated the cost of seeing Aussie shows by the likes of SiaMidnight OilAdele and Justin Bieber and most recently Paul McCartney to upwards of thousands of dollars.
