Sad news emerged earlier in the week with pop-punk band Yellowcard announcing that they would be breaking up, however, they announced that there would be a final tour and today they’ve announced the dates.
The band will head to Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne in February 2017 to celebrate almost two decades as a band. They will also have a new album in hand as the band have announced that their 10th and final record will be released on 30th September.
The album was recorded with the knowledge that it would be the final one and they pushed themselves to create “a lasting finale for this incredible story,” according to a press release..
Yellowcard last toured Australia back in July 2015 with Mayday Parade and have built a loyal fanbase down-under, so it will no doubt come as a relief to fans that they’ve decided to stop by one last time.
“We will be forever grateful to Yellowcard fans all over the world for the opportunities you have given us,” the band said.
“We have played shows for nearly two decades on six continents, and had the chance to keep recording the music we love year after year.”
Yellowcard have handpicked Swedish band Like Torches to support them here on all shows. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, 7th July at 10am and you can check out all the details below.
UPDATE 6/7/2016: Yellowcard have announced a second and final show for fans in Melbourne, who simply ate up tickets to the previously announced night. Details below and tickets on sale now.
