Sigur Rós To Feature In ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 4

The three core members of adored Icelandic ensemble Sigur Rós are set to become immortalised on film with a cameo in the upcoming season of Game Of Thrones. Now in its fourth season, the program has become a hot spot for musical talent with several acts so far subtly getting amongst the Westeros way of life.

Jonsi Birigisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason are all currently on location in Croatia, reports Entertainment Weekly, suggesting that they will most likely make their appearance with the people of Kings Landing. As it just so happens, the show’s creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss are big fans of The Ros, and listened to their music while filming on location in Iceland for previous seasons.

So far drummer Will Champion of House Coldplay and Gary Lightbody of the House Snow Patrol have managed to score on-screen roles in the medieval epic. The National and The Hold Steady haven both contributed original compositions inspired by the program, the latter of which included vocals provided by Game Of Thrones mastermind George RR Martin.

Sigur Rós are no strangers to the camera. The trio recently found themselves partaking in the shenanigans of Springfielders in an episode of The Simpsons earlier this year, which also included a cameo from compatriot Björk. Check out their version of The Simpsons theme below.
