Melbourne alt-rock band The Getaway Plan have locked in a mammoth 2015 national tour for January, May and June. The tour will see the quartet road-testing new material in capital cities and regional centres around the country.
Former Getaway Plan drummer Aaron Barnett officially left the band in early 2014, and in July the group announced they would be parting ways with their management, their record label and their bassist Dave Anderson.
The quartet, now consisting of Matthew Wright, Clint Ellis, Jase Clarke and Dan Maio, recently crowd-funded their forthcoming third album, Dark Horses, via Pledge Music, and will record, release and tour the record independently.
The group’s generous fan base and the contributions of Arts Victoria are helping to make it all happen.
The Getaway Plan have confirmed that the recording of Dark Horses is now underway at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Studios, being led by producer Samuel K. This means the album will be the band’s first full-length release recorded in Australia. It is slated to drop in mid-2015.
