Soundwave 2013 organisers have finally announced the second round of artists to join the likes of Blink-182, The Offspring and Metallica, amongst other stunning first announcement acts.
So far we’ve had bands for just about everyone’s tastes, and just when you think it couldn’t get any better, it absolutely does. Of the 22 odd bands announced today, pretty much all of them have managed to make a festival even bigger. Not that it needed it.
Joining us next February for the event will be none other than Slayer, Bullet For My Valentine, Billy Talent and Bring Me The Horizon. And don’t forget Mindless Self Indulgence, Amity Affliction, and Sick Of It all. The whole thing could basically be a great festival on its own, but Soundwave, eager to celebrate their 10th birthday in style, will be showcasing it all in one freaking massive day.
The new lineup is a tip-of-the-hat to all the metalheads out there, and when added to the existing bill, there is literally something for everyone. With all the rumours flying around, organisers had some pretty huge expectations to fill, and sure, not every demand was met, but a strong percentage of them were, and even additions that most of us never saw coming, Cypress Hill for example.
Tickets are still yet to go on sale for the general public, but it already looks as though tickets are quickly starting to deplete. Pre-sale went on sale this week for each city, and while most people were able to snap up enough tickets, it’s been revealed that there could be as little as 15% of the total tickets left, depending on your particular city. If you didn’t get a pre-sale ticket, be quick to grab one for general sale this Thursday, 23rd August.
So here it is, ladies and gents, feast your eyes on the entire lineup of Soundwave 2013. Be warned, you may need to check your heart rate about half way through it. It’s massive!
