Two-fifths of Gomez – vocalists and guitarists Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball – have announced their fourth Australian tour in as many years for November 2025, maintaining their reputation as two of the country’s most frequent international touring artists of the 21st century. Their upcoming run together, however, comes with a twist: It will see the pair unveil the Gomez By Request format, in which the entire setlist each night is dictated by the audience’s popular vote. The full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
The tour’s promoter, Love Police, have described the Gomez By Request show as such in their press materials: “No rules. Just two mates, two guitars, some electronic stuff, and decades of songs that have soundtracked road trips, breakups, breakdowns and breakthroughs. It’ll be intimate and loose, but it’s your chance to hear the songs you love, the way you’ve never heard them before. Ticket holders can place their song requests for their chosen show. Once the request is in, a setlist is presented to Ben and Ian to curate a show like no other. Get your request in and Bring It On!”
Gomez – ‘We Haven’t Turned Around’
The duo were last in Australia across October and November 2024 for a run of shows nationally, in which they performed exclusively from their first two albums: 1998’s Bring It On and 1999’s Liquid Skin. The latter saw the English band first debut on the ARIA Albums Chart, peaking at number nine and later going on to achieve Platinum certification – the only Gomez album to date to do so.
Gomez have not performed as a full band since November 2019 – which was, fittingly enough, on an Australian tour. Both Ottewell and Ball have toured individually as well as a duo, and often as a trio with American singer-songwriter Buddy. The other three members, however, have since pursued extracurricular activities: guitarist Tom Gray entered politics and joined the Labour Party, while bassist Paul Blackburn tenures at BIMM Music Institute in Brighton teaching his instrument. Drummer Olly Peacock, meanwhile, is the live drummer for Australia’s own Empire Of The Sun.
