David Kushner Cancels 2023 Australian Tour

US singer-songwriter David Kushner was due to visit Australia for the first time this month, playing headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne and taking part in the Spilt Milk festival tour, which visits Canberra, Gold Coast, Ballarat and Perth over the final weekend of November and the first weekend of December. However, due to “unforeseen circumstances”, Kushner has scrapped his Australian tour plans.

Kushner announced the tour cancellation across his social media channels, saying that he “regrettably” would be cancelling all upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand. “You all mean so much to me, and I cannot wait to see you in the foreseeable future,” he wrote. No further explanation has been provided.

David Kushner: ‘Daylight’

Kushner was due to appear at Spilt Milk alongside headliners Post Malone, Aitch, and Dom Dolla, as well as Jessie Murph, MAY-A, Peach PRC, Tkay Maidza, The Buoys, Cub Sport, and more. In a statement, the festival said it was “prioritising finding an act to replace him.”

Kushner’s tour promoters, Secret Sounds, confirmed that tickets would be “automatically refunded in full to the original payment method.” The company emphasised that “patrons do not need to take any action.”

The 23 year old Kushner was heading to Australia on the back of his viral hit ‘Daylight’, which was officially released in June. The song hit #4 on the ARIA charts, and has racked up more than 650 million streams on Spotify at the time of writing.
