Gracie Abrams Announces 2024 Australian Headline Shows

US singer Gracie Abrams has announced a short run of tour dates along Australia’s east coast early in 2024. Abrams will play Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, 16th January, with dates in Sydney and Melbourne to follow.

The dates form part of Abrams’ wider world tour for her recently released debut album Good Riddance, which arrived in June and followed her 2021 EP This is what it feels like. The album was produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, who has taken the reins on a lot of pop albums lately – most notably Taylor Swift’s folklore and evermore and also Ed Sheeran’s – (Subtract).

Gracie Abrams: ‘I know it won’t work’

UPDATE: More shows announced for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne – details below

“I’m not someone that’s had very much success in the speed dating of producers, trying a day and seeing how it goes,” Abrams said of working with Dessner in an interview with Billboard. “It’s likely because of how much I write alone. I need to trust whoever it is I’m working with, and I don’t think I can accomplish that in one day, necessarily.

“But the second I met Aaron, I was like, ‘I don’t feel remotely filtered in any capacity’. I felt supported and challenged by him in really healthy, positive, beneficial ways. Even when we were writing about all the heavy shit, it was the best time.”

Abrams joined Swift as the opener on her colossal Eras tour around North America this year, and has been locked in as the support act once again for dates next year. The singer won’t be supporting Swift when she arrives on Australian shores in February 2024 – that slot is going to Sabrina Carpenter.
