Extremely exciting news today* as self-confessed pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne and the Paddle Pop Lion (AKA Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger) have announced that they are engaged. According to Perez Hilton, everyone’s favourite source for this sort of stuff, the courtship lasted six months before Kroeger popped the question. Awww.
Although Chad is not a Sk8er Boy, Avril seems to be enjoying a relationship without complication. Nickelback recently announced their tour of Australia, an announcement which received mixed responses, with many pushing to boycott their tour.
The Canadian band released the video to their single Trying Not to Love You, a video that I would expect Carly Rae Jespen to put out. The video further acted against their push to maintain their image as a ‘metal’ band. God knows how they got that title amongst fans.
The two Canadians, (not the country’s best export, I’m glad they have Arcade Fire) are yet to announce any further details. It it believed that the relationship began when the two started recording in the studio together earlier this year, which is yet to be released. Thankfully.
