Rufus Wainwright Announces 2019 Australian Tour

Written by Tom Williams on October 24, 2018

American-Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright has announced a 2019 Australian tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his 1998 self-titled debut album and its 2001 follow-up, Poses.

Wainwright, who last toured Australia in 2015, will bring his ‘All These Poses Tour’ to Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra in February 2019, including performances for Adelaide Festival and the Melbourne Zoo Twilights series.

“20 years, what can I say?” says Wainwright.

“In life, one stands the test of time but in music, thankfully, one reaps the rewards. Come savour a very fine vintage of songs, those were some pretty good years!”

The New York born, Montreal-raised musician will be playing favourites from his first two albums, with experimental jazz-pop artist Rachel Eckroth (who also appears in Wainwright’s touring band) supporting at all shows.
