The Weeknd Announces 2023 Australian Tour

The Weeknd is bringing his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ tour to Australia in late November and early December 2023. The Canadian musician will perform at stadium venues in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne on his first visit to Australia in six years.

The tour gets its name from The Weeknd’s two most recent albums, 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM. The former included the single ‘Blinding Lights’, which US publication Billboard deemed the “top Billboard Hot 100 song of all time”.

Earlier this year, The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye suggested he’s ready to abandon his professional alias. “The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd,” he told W Magazine. “This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say.”

“I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd,” he added. “But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.”

Tesfaye recently starred as Tedros in the HBO series The Idol, alongside Lily-Rose Depp and Troye Sivan. He also co-created the show with Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson and producer Reza Fahim. According to Forbes, the five-episode series was “by far” the “worst reviewed show” in HBO history.
