Deerhoof Announce First Australian Tour In Over 10 Years

Legendary American indie band Deerhoof will return to the Australian stage this June for the first time in over 10 years for their Australian album tour. The tour supports their new album ‘Miracle Level’, their 19th release in a 30-year career.’ Miracle Level’ stands out as Deerhoof’s first venture to sing entirely in Japanese language.

It is a powerful counterpoint to the artificiality prevalent in today’s music industry. Due to their chaotic yet mesmerizing performances that combine angular rhythms with sweet vocals, Deerhoof remains beloved on the global music scene. Their upcoming Australian tour promises to be a great live experience for their fans.

Deerhoof – ‘I Will Spite Survive’

The album title came from nature’s observation ‘ “We look at the state of the world and think, It’ll be a miracle if we survive”. The band said

This album marks Deerhoof’s starting point as it is their first time recording and mixing in a professional studio. The band didn’t give up their signature sound but wanted to challenge themselves by stepping out of their do-it-yourself comfort zone.

Working closely with sound designer and producer Mike Bridavsky in Minneapolis., Deerhoof poured Mike Bridavsky recalls the intense rehearsal process that preceded the recording, “But miracles are what humans do as our planet’s most inventive and unpredictable species”. Bridavsky said

Mike Bridavsky further recalled and said. “They sat me down and performed the entire album from beginning to end” recalls Bridvasky. “I knew we were about to make an amazing record.”
