The Get Up Kids have announced their return to Australia for a run of shows in September 2025. The tour will see the band celebrating a quarter century of their second studio album, 1999’s Something To Write Home About, performing the album in its entirety at all four shows. The full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
The American pop-punk band were last in Australia in late 2019, where they undertook a national tour supported by Antiskeptic. It marked their first tour with new keyboardist Dustin Kinsey, who had joined just months prior replacing James Dewees, as well as the band’s first tour anywhere after bassist Rob Pope officially departed from his long-time role in Spoon to focus on The Get Up Kids again on a full-time basis. The tour was in support of their sixth studio album Problems.
The Get Up Kids – ‘Holiday’
Something To Write Home About was originally released in September of 1999. It served as the follow-up to 1997’s Four Minute Mile, and has since gone on to be regarded as one of the most seminal releases in the second wave of the emo subgenre. The Get Up Kids had previously performed the album in its entirety at Chicago’s Riot Fest in 2014; their current world tour marks the first time they have revisited the album in full since then.
