Floodlights Announce Final ‘Painting Of My Time’ Australian Tour Dates

Floodlights have announced a run of Australian tour dates for March and April of 2024, as a means to send off their acclaimed second studio album Painting of My Time. The announcement comes just weeks after the Melbourne pub-rock band played headlining shows in regional Victoria, performing in both Archies Creek and Torquay.

Following the completion of the tour, the band will reportedly head to the studio to begin work on its follow-up. The tour includes dates in Eumundi, Brisbane, Sydney and the band’s native Melbourne. A full run of dates is available below.

Floodlights released Painting of My Time in April of 2023. It was supported by four singles ahead of its release: ‘Human’, ‘Lessons Learned’, ‘Things You Do’ and the title track. The album was nominated for the 2023 Australian Music Prize and made the final shortlist, though it ultimately lost out to RVG‘s Brain Worms.

The band toured extensively throughout the year, supporting Black Midi on their debut Australian tour and Pavement on their reunion tour, as well as headlining their own sold-out tour across the country. The four-piece were joined on tour by keyboardist/trumpeter Sarah Hellyer, who was later inducted as a full-time member of the band and expanded Floodlights into a quintet.

The band also performed at Australian festivals such as Falls, Harvest Rock and Meredith – with the latter bearing personal significance for the band members, as it was at that very festival they had decided to form Floodlights years earlier. The band are set to perform at Laneway Festival in Melbourne this weekend, playing the Dean Turner Stage, as well as A Festival Called Panama in Tasmania.
